William Joseph Kutler, 94 of Sioux City, formally of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. Bill has been cremated and graveside services will be held on his birthday October 26th, 2015 at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors by the U.S. Army. Bill was born October 26, 1920 in Elrama, PA; he was the son of Michael and Irene (Dunseth) Kutler. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and began his 33 year military career with the 28th Infantry Division. He served in WW II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany for 11 years and Okinawa for 3 years. He served as an Advisor of the Pennsylvania National Guard at Indiantown Gap, PA. He retired at the age of 50 in Grantville, PA. He then began a career training and racing thorough bred horses at the Penn National racetrack near his home. Bill married Catherine Brown on September 1st, 1942. She passed away on January 3rd, 1966. After Bill retired from the service, he graduated from Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, PA. During his military service, he was a professor and taught for the University of Indiana. Bill was a member of Palm Lutheran Church in Palmyra, PA. He enjoyed traveling worldwide, snow skiing and he was an avid hunter while stationed in Germany and in the U.S.A. Survivors included 2 children: Judy Huitink and her husband Doug of Dakota Dunes, SD, Bill Kutler Jr. of Palmyra, PA; 3 grandchildren: Graham Garnos, Garrett Garnos and Kristen Kutler Gulotta and her husband Tony; a great grandson: Maxton Gulotta
