Earl E. Livengood, 78, of South Sioux City, NE formerly of Sioux City passed away Sunday, June 13, 2015 at Matney Care Center in South Sioux City, NE. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with Rev. Daivd Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Earl was born on March 30, 1937 to Roy Mack and Fern (Riley) Livengood in Castana, IA. He graduated from Castana High School. Earl served his country in the US Navy. After returning home He later married Arlene Wright on March 4, 1967 in Concord, NE. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2000 in Sioux City. Earl worked for over 19 years retiring from Briar Cliff University in the Maintenance Department. He loved to listen to Hank Williams, Sr. and attending Briar Cliff University Basketball Games. He was an all-around handy man for family friends. Earl was very proud to be named the 2013 Valentines Day King at the Matney's Colonial Nursing Home. He will be fondly remembered by all who know him with a coffee in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He is survived by his daughter Deanna K. Livengood-Hullinger of Elk Point, SD; son Brian Livengood of South Sioux City, NE; sister Lucille Nelson of Concord, NE; brother in law Kenneth (Marlene) Wright of Sioux City; sister in law Elaine (Jim) Westeen of Kemper, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews, and 2 grand-kitties, Vanilla and Tais. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 4 sisters Alice, Irene, Iva, and Leora. In honor of Earl, the family requests that you wear a shade of blue when attending the visitation or funeral service.
