Bruce E. Homer, Sr., 69, of South Sioux City, NE passed away at his home on Monday, June 08, 2015. A visitation will be on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. There will be a funeral service following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dave Miller officiating. Miller on September 29, 1995 in Elk Point, SD. He worked for 41 years at Tyson Foods as a Load Out Man. Bruce enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, watching and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers and he was a car enthusiast. Bruce is survived by his wife Billie Homer of South Sioux City, NE; children Carmen (Tony) Brewer of South Sioux City, NE; Bruce (Lisa) Homer Jr. of Sac City, IA; Candy (Chuks) Okwedi of Abilene, TX; Tom (Angel) Homer Abilene, TX; Julie (John) Carroll of Smithland, IA; Blacey (Wendi) Bennett of Pierce, NE; and Brad (Joni) Bennett of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Carol (Tom) Stevens of North Sioux City, SD; and Joyce Thompson of North Sioux City, SD; uncle Richard (Jean) Wynn of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 special friends Sonny Nyreen, Ed Goodwin and Ron Thompson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
