Carol F. Hudson, 75 of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 29, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church. Rev. Gregory Hanneman will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Carol was born March 4, 1940 in Williamsport, PA; she was the daughter of Wilbert and Carmen (Johnson) Forse. Carol grew up in Williamsport and graduated from South Williamsport High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in speech pathology from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Carol married Pastor Terry D. Hudson June 29, 1963 in Williamsport, PA. Carol worked as a speech pathologist for 16 years in the Rock Island Public School System. She then worked in private practice as an Orofacial Myologist doing tongue thrust therapy and American English pronunciation for non-native speakers. Carol was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She served on the board of the Siouxland Youth Chorus for 6 years and was president for 1 year. She was a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology and did volunteer work for the June E. Nylen Cancer Center. Carol was also a cancer survivor. Survivors include her husband Pastor Terry Hudson of Sioux City, her son Pastor Steven C. Hudson and his wife Diana of Grimes, IA; her daughter: Laura C. Godsey and her husband Maxx of Ft. Salonga, NY; her sister: Barbara Anderson and her husband Pastor Dennis Anderson of Omaha, NE; 9 grandchildren: Britney Wilson and her husband Ryan, Terence Hudson, Ian Hudson, Haley Hudson, Daniela Hudson, Elise Godsey, Ingrid Godsey, Moriah Godsey and Anneka Godsey. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Nancy Forse; an infant grandson Addison Charles Hudson and an infant great grandchild Elliot Wilson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to ST. John Lutheran Church or the June E. Nylen Cancer Center.
