Barbara Geralyn Conway, 62, of Whiting, Iowa passed away Friday May 15, 2015 at a nursing home in Sioux City. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday May 18 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Michael Erpelding officiating. Visitation will be Sunday May 17, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel from 4 till 8 p.m. and Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Albaton Cemetery rural Sloan, Iowa Barbara Geralyn, daughter of Norman and Jean (Lefler) Engel, was born January 17, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. Barb first worked as a nurse's aide at Mercy Hospital before becoming a unit secretary for 27 years. She eventually earned her Pharmacy Tech certification. On June 27, 1992, Barbara was united in marriage with Henry Conway at St. Boniface Church in Sioux City. The couple made their home near Whiting. For many years, Barbara was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Dominick's Club. She enjoyed collecting dolls, bears, and going to movies. Barb served her community by volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Sioux City Community Theater and as a foster parent. She enjoyed square dancing, caring for animals, especially her dogs. Barb is survived by her husband Henry Conway of Whiting and a large family. Her siblings are Steve Engel, Gary Engel (wife Deidre), Randy Engel, Bev Goulette (husband Tom), Mary Jorgensen (husband Randy), John Paul Engel, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces,nephews . Barb was a humble, kind, loving soul. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and Henry's parents.
