Church and Dorothy Church. The family moved back to Sioux City, IA where Louie was joined by two siblings, John Francis and Donald Wesley. Louie graduated from Sioux City East High School in 1964 and Dakota Wesleyan University in 1968. Louie was the co-captain of the football team at Dakota Wesleyan, and still holds the record for the most broken football helmets. Shortly after graduating with his Bachelor's Degree he moved to Michigan and began teaching History and coaching Football at Cheboygan Junior High School. In 1971, while in Cheboygan, he met the love of his life, the Doonya to his Dooney, Suellyne Wagner. Louie and Sue were united in marriage in East Lansing, MI on August 2, 1974. Shortly after marriage they welcomed their first born son, Louis Asa in 1976. The Church family moved back to Sioux City and their family grew when they welcomed their only daughter, Anne Pyne in 1978, and another son, William Casey in 1981. Louie began working for Metz Baking Company in 1977. In 1980 he began working as a Business Agent for the Baker's Union Local 433 and in 1982 became the President of the Baker's Union Local 433 and held that position until his retirement in June 2001. After retirement Louie and Sue kept busy with their antique business, and recently started an online antique and book business called the Iowa Book Farm. Louie loved all things related to history and music, and was a connoisseur of both. While operating the Iowa Book Farm, Louie and Sue traveled to and set up at many outdoor flea markets such as Vick's Corner in Spirit Lake, IA and the Walnut Iowa AMVETS Antique Show amongst many others. Louie coached both of his sons in baseball at Morningside Little League and volunteered his time as a board member there for many years. He also coached his daughter's basketball teams at the YMCA. Once his grandchildren were old enough to participate in sports he came out of "retirement" and helped coach his oldest grandson's baseball team for two years. The Iowa Book Farm has sponsored their grandchildren's baseball and softball teams for the past four years. This year he was helping coach his granddaughter's softball team at Morningside Little League. Louie was a Genealogist. He was able to trace his family's roots back to 12th Century England. You could always find him tinkering in his garage on the latest antiques he discovered or behind the computer making new discoveries about his family's lineage and history. He was a devoted family man and loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than words could ever express. He loved taking his grandchildren for walks on the "Trail of the Lonesome Pine". Surviving Louie is his wife of over 40 years, Sue. Also surviving is his mother Dorothy Church, brother Donald Church, sons Asa Church, Bill Church and wife Elizabeth, daughter Anne Haugen and husband Daniel, grandchildren Tyler Haugen, Jonathan Haugen, Amy Haugen, Louie M.
