Dee A. Hanson

Dee A. Hanson, 63, of Wayne, NE passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Dee was born on April 11, 1952 in Estherville, IA to Roy and Darlene (Mustard) Bendixen. Following her father's passing, her mother was married to Robert Seylar. She graduated from Estherville High School in Estherville, IA. She also took some trade school college classes specializing in various trades, one of which was proudly graduating from the Bio Chi Message Therapy Institute in Sioux City. She was united in marriage to Terry Hanson on September 2, 1972 in Estherville, IA. She took pride in raising her daughter Michele and keeping a good home for her family. She dubbed herself a "Domestic Goddess". In her free time she enjoyed painting, doing numerous crafts, Rose Mulling, woodworking projects, and was a computer enthusiast. Among her many talents, she loved to create oil paintings. She took 1st place and best of show at the Clay County Fair. She is survived by her husband Terry Hanson of Wayne, NE; daughter Michele (Dan) Bock of Albert Lea, MN; mother Darlene Seylar of Estherville, IA; 2 grandchildren Joshua and Brandon Etherington; brother Robert (Janet) Bendixen of Estherville, IA; step brothers Don (Deb) Seylar of Estherville, IA; David Seylar of Estherville, IA; and Dale (Jenny) Seylar of Coralville, IA. She was preceded in death by her father Roy Bendixen, Step Father Robert Seylar, and brother Ronald Bendixen. Dee, also known as Dee Bird Lady, was not only a bird breeder, but an avid lover of all animals. Memorials may be sent to Tender Heart Animal Rescue in Wayne, NE.
