Richard H. "Dick" Fergen, 80, of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 4, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Daniel Rupp officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. A visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a time of sharing memories will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. He worked for many years taking on various roles in the feed mill business retiring in 1997. He was united in marriage to Margaret McGarry on December 29, 1956 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City. Dick loved being around cars, riding motorcycles, and camping with his wife and family. He had a special place in his heart spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his loving sidekick dog "Oreo". He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Siouxland Sam's Camping Club. He is survived by his wife Margaret Fergen of Sioux City; 5 sons Dan (Judy) of Belton, MO; Steve (Lynda); Will (Patty); Tom (Julie); Jack (Kathie) Fergen all of Sioux City; daughter Nancy (David) Olberding of Cedar Rapids, IA; 17 grandchildren Nick, Aaron, Jeremy (Brittini), Justin, Andy (Jolene), Chris (Shelly), Jamie (Jason), Logan, Siera, Caleb, Stephanie (Owen), Sarah, Lisa, Amy, Michael, Hunter and Parker; 3 step grandchildren Mary (Mike), Alan and Andrea; 9 great-grandchildren Michael, Miranda, Mikalya, Connor, Emma Mae, Camille, Ramsey, Jade, and Aria; 2 brothers John (Geneva) Fergen of New Castle, CO and Gerald (Jeri) Fergen of South Sioux City, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Corrine. Although Dick passed suddenly, he was able to leave one last gift of generosity by being an organ tissue donor to help better the lives of others in need.
