Muriel Marguerite Logan, daughter James and Mary (Dougherty) McKelvie, was born January 25, 1930, in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. She grew up in Sault Saint Marie, where she graduated from high school and met her future husband. On August 15, 1953, Muriel was united in marriage with Nelson James "Jim" Logan at Sault Saint Marie. Four children were born to this union. Muriel accompanied Nelson wherever his ministry led them. They lived in California and Washington before he taught at Calvary Bible College in Kansas City. They then served in Broken Bow, Nebraska, before moving to Missouri where she was active with Child Evangelism Fellowship. They eventually settled in Sioux City, Iowa. Muriel and Nelson were members at Central Baptist Church, but attended and supported many area churches. She was an avid reader, especially of the Bible. Muriel was deeply committed to a life of ministry through praying for other people. Muriel is survived by her husband Nelson "Jim" Logan of Sioux City; four children: Cheryl Orange and husband Thomas of Omaha, NE; Teri Logan of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Wendy Knowles and husband Timothy of Windsor Locks, CT; and Richard Logan and wife Diana of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren: Michelle, Sarah, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Rachelle, Malachi, Ambrielle and Aaron; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Clayton and Larry McKelvie and a sister Millie Welcher. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.
