Austin Niel McCloud

Austin Niel McCloud, age 18, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away early on Friday, April 17, 2015, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at West High School. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences can be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com. A memorial fund has been set up at www.gofundme.com. Austin Niel, was born to Jerry McCloud and Tammy Milburn, on February 5, 1997, at Thurston, Colorado. The family first made their home in Commerce City, Colorado and Tekamah, Nebraska. Austin then moved with his mother to Sioux City where he started school at Emerson Elementary. They then lived in Kentucky and returned to Sioux City where he attended West Junior High and High Schools. Austin loved sports; he was the manager of the West Girls basketball team, and enjoyed playing pee wee football in elementary, basketball, rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Pittsburgh Steelers, and could quote stats on many sports teams and players. He was well-liked by his teachers and received student of the quarter honors. Austin had a contagious personality. Despite having a hot temper, he could be very silly and also be a protector of his fellow students. He had talent of being able to sketch and had a wonderful vocabulary which enabled his novice ability to rap. Above all, Austin loved his family and friends and cherished the time spent with them. Austin is survived by; his mother Tammy Summers and friend Ron Ingalls of Sioux City; his father Jerry McCloud and friend Charidith Uhing of Tekamah, Nebraska; a sister Crystal Jensen of Phoenix, Arizona; Aunts and Uncles; Marlene Nelson; Audrey Lyons; Kathy Mavis; Dennis (Jeanie) McCloud; Tina (John) Vance; Shirley (Brian) Jurgens; Terry McCloud; Dewey McCloud; Greg (Pam) McCloud; and Kim Fletcher; his grandparents: Alvin and Diane Lyons and Zoa Burton. He was preceded in death by grandparents Niel and Elaine Rasmussen and Jerry James McCloud; and uncles Edward McCloud and Mike Jurgens.
