Delbert William Ullrich

Delbert William Ullrich, 92 of North Sioux City, SD passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at his residence after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 3, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Pastor Barbara Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Delbert was born May 30, 1922 on a farm near Denison, IA; he was the son of William and Elva (Bielfeldt) Ullrich. Delbert grew up in the Schleswig area and attended country schools. He joined the U.S. Navy and served during WW II from 1942 to 1945. Delbert married Betty Ruth McGonigle November 19, 1944 in Tyreza, AK, she died May 29, 2010 in Sioux City. Delbert worked for W.A. Klinger Construction Company before starting his own business, Ullrich Construction in 1959. He did home building and concrete work before retiring in 1984. Delbert was a member of AA since 1954. Survivors include 4 children: Larry Ullrich of Sioux City, Sandra Ullrich of Sioux City, Diane Ostrand and her husband John of Omaha, NE, Bonnie Ullrich of Sioux City; a daughter in law: Teresa Ullrich of Sioux City; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, a son Doyle, 7 brothers and sister and a great grandson.
