Margie Lou Mason, 84 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at a Sioux City hospital. Margie's memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the First Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Dan Doran and Rev. Kevin Miller will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Margie was born February 14, 1931 in Wiggins, CO; she was the daughter of John Seaton and Melvia (Boyd) Ledford. Margie was the 8th of 9 children and grew up in rural Wiggins, Co. She graduated from Wiggins High School and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Margie married James E. Mason March 11, 1950 in Wiggins, he died in February of 2007. The couple lived most of their lives in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico where Margie worked as a book keeper and secretary. Margie was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church and was active in the Women's Compassionate Ministry of the Church. Margie is survived by her 3 children: Louanne Hyatt (William) of Lexington, NE, Julie Nelson (Mark) of Hershey, NE, Loren Mason (Pam) of Sioux City, Ia; 2 sisters: Ada Loose of Fort Morgan, Co and Lorraine Lyman (Ken) Kersey, Co; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren: Tyson Hyatt (Tara) and their children, Jonas and Ethan, Trevor Hyatt (Breanna) and their children, Edith and August James, Allison Fritsche (Ryan) and their children, Alexis, Madylin and Morgan, Taylor Hyatt (Laura), Kirk Nelson (Kylee) and their son Kase, Zach Nelson (Brianna) and their son Drew, Heidi Mason and Julie Mason. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, brothers and sisters: Harve Ledford, Paul Ledford, Lucille Wence, Leota Boettger, Bob Ledford and Jenny Smith; great grandchildren: Reid, Karling and Kort Nelson. Margie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was deeply treasured by everyone that knew her. She will be greatly missed by all.
