Joann E. Morton, 77, of Sioux City passed away Friday March 27, 2015 at a Sioux City nursing home. Celebration of her life and visitation with the family will be from 1 till 3 p.m. Monday March 30, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, Iowa. Joann was born May 4, 1937 in Kingsley, Iowa. She was the daughter of Walter and Phyllis (Mackay) Meister. Joann graduated from Kingsley High School in the class of 1956. She married Eugene O. Morton in Elk Point, South Dakota in 1956. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and painting crafts which she turned into a small business Joann's Plaster Crafts, which was located in the Morningside area. Joann is survived by two sons; Dan Morton and his wife Melody, Bill Morton, daughter Jean Ann Fink. Six grandchildren: Michael, Shane, Stacey, Derek, Kaylee, Jacob and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one son-in-law Robert Fink
