Linda Acuff, age 63, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at her home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March, 27, 2015, at 5:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City. Visitation will be Thursday, March 26, 2015, from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City. Reverend Steve Niles will officiate. The Nelson-Berger Funeral Home in Sioux City is in charge of arrangements. Linda Mae, daughter of Dale and Charlotte (Lumberg) Ewoldt, was born October 22, 1952, at Holstein, Iowa. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. Linda then worked as a waitress at Pizza Hut. On July 17, 1979, Linda was united in marriage with Gaylord Acuff in Sioux City. Two daughters were born to this union. Linda and Gaylord made their home in South Sioux City, Nebraska where Linda enjoyed her role as stay-at-home mom. Linda was a member of First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City, where she taught Sunday school for 32 years. Linda enjoyed sewing, caring for the dogs, gardening, flowers, and collecting ducks. She was a very sociable person and took time to go to coffee and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Linda is survived by her husband Gaylord Acuff of South Sioux City, Nebraska; two daughters: Jenny Martins and husband D.J. of Sioux City and Jody Bacon and husband Allen of Wayne, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Michaela, Dylan, Donovan, Destiny and Desirae; two brothers: Michael Ewoldt and wife Deb of North Sioux City, South Dakota; Larry Ewoldt of Arvada, Colorado; and a sisterTerri Ewoldt of Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
