Minnie I Camerer

PONCA, NE | Minnie I. Camerer, 95, of Ponca and a former Sioux City resident, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Elms Care Center in Ponca. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Minnie was born February 24, 1920 in Martinsburg, NE the daughter of John B. and Minnie (Bauman) Stark. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in Martinsburg. On April 25, 1941 she married the love of her life, Hobert S. "Hobie" Camerer. The couple lived in Ponca until moving to Sioux City in 1975. Minnie worked at Atokad Park for 22 years. Hobert died Decemeber 3, 2003 in Sioux City. In 2004, Minnie returned to Ponca to live. Minnie was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 117 of Ponca. Minnie loved to bowl, play cards and travel. She is survived by a brother and his wife, John H. and Dolores Stark of Prescott, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 sisters and 1 brother. Memorials may be made in her name to the Lutheran Hour or to the Lutheran Church.
