Esther S. Nassif, 91, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at The Abbey of LeMars in LeMars, IA. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Orthodox Church on Thursday, March 26,2015 with Father Lucas Rice officiating. Burial will be in the St. Thomas Orthodox Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com, Esther was born on April 22, 1923 in Bismarck, ND to Thomas and Lillian (Saliba) Nassif. She graduated from Bismarck High School in Bismarck, in 1941 as the salutatorian. Esther was united in marriage to Nick C., Nassif on February 4, 1945 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1994 in Los Angeles, CA. Esther dedicated herself to being a loving mother to her three children. She also worked by her husband's side helping him run the family business, Nassif Rug Company, which was in the family from 1945 to 1988. During that time she started to sell draperies and furniture out of the family business. Esther enjoyed cooking Lebanese food, doing interior decorating, and was a fabulous seamstress. She also enjoyed being with her family and entertaining family and friends. She touched many people's lives in a positive day. Esther was a member of the St. Thomas Orthodox Church where she was in the Ladies Club, she was also a member the Luncheon Club, Order of the Eastern Star and longtime treasurer of the Attiyeh Benevolent Society. She is survived by her 2 daughters Renee Nassif of Sioux City; Denise Levy of Shawnee, KS; son Nicholas "Steven" (Michele) Nassif of Santa Clarita, CA; grandchildren Lynne McClelland, Nicholas Nassif, Jr. and Steven Nassif; great grandchildren Preston and Rebecca McClelland; brother Douglas Nassif of Palmdale, CA; and many loving nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by Hazelle Nassif, Josephine Judt, Mitchell Nassif, Virignia Nassif, Vivian Nassif and Gabriel Nassif.
