Clarence E. Butcher, 89, of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Countryside Senior Living. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 with Rev. Kathy Martin officiating at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clarence was born on July 21, 1925 in Onawa, IA to Harry and Bessie (Rowland) Butcher. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy. He was united in marriage to Goldie Beazley on August 17, 1946 in Sioux City. He worked for 28 years for Roberts Dairy. Clarence enjoyed spending his free time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed in his younger years routing on the Chicago Cubs. He is survived by his 2 daughters Joyce (Leary) Smith of Sergeant Bluff; and Gloria (Gary) Peterson of Sioux City; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 grandsons Scott Smith and Tom Butcher, and his son Dennis Butcher.
