Janet M. "Jan" Binneboese, 78, of Hinton entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steven Stoll will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Jan was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Stanley and Pauline (Nelson) Sorensen. Jan grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. She attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls. Jan worked for the family business, Sorensen Construction, before her marriage. She married Arnold Binneboese on Nov. 9, 1957, in Sioux City. Jan worked as a secretary for several businesses in Sioux City, including Arthur Sanford. She helped organize craft shows and had a great talent and love for crafting. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as secretary and organist for the church. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, having held several offices for Casper Post 477 of Hinton, county, district and state departments. Jan was a great patriot and enjoyed the work she did, as well as the many friends she made. Jan enjoyed spending time with her family. She cherished her grandchildren, and they were always in her heart. She was well-loved for her smile and showered her family and friends with love and friendship. Jan had a kind and loving soul, and was always thinking of others. Jan is survived by her husband, Arnold of Hinton; three children, Susan Flammang and her husband, Daniel of Lawton, Iowa, Tamera Struve of Hinton, and Daniel Binneboese of Bentonville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Tyler and Brady Struve and Lindsey Flammang. Jan is also survived by a much loved family. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Merlene Dahl.
