Dorothy M. Murray, 86 of Sioux City passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at a local care facility after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Westlawn Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Friday all at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Dorothy was born October 29, 1928 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of Emmett D and Dollie M. (Lake) Reeves. She attended East High School and married James D. Murray Sept. 10, 1949. James passed away in April 11, 1986. Dorothy held several jobs, working for Zenith and then Interbake Foods before retiring in 1990. Dorothy was an avid reader, accomplished quilter and seamstress and could solve any Sodoku puzzle. She was always ready for a game of cards. Survivors include three children: Joyce (Gerald) Jensen of Green Bay, WI, Dan Murray (special friend Veronica Huffman) of Sioux City, Brian (Cindy) Murray of McCook Lake, SD; 7 grandchildren: Erin Jensen, Erica (James) Hansen, Jessica (Dan) Lederman, Stacy Murray, Jake Murray, Dezeri (Tony) Nelson, and Bill Murray; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandson; several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Gerald, Delbert and Duane. Dorothy will be greatly missed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and the best friend a person could ask for.
