Sioux City, IA | Rose Marie Hansen, 92, of Elk Point, SD and a former longtime Sioux City resident, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Prairie Estates in Elk Point. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Westlawn Presbyterian Church in Sioux City with Pastor Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Akron, IA. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present 6-8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com Rose Marie was born Aug. 16, 1922 in rural Elk Point the daughter of Fred Thomas and Sadie Marie (Siebert) Scott. She attended country school near Elk Point. On Jan. 19, 1943 she married Sivert Ingaman Hansen in South Sioux City, NE. The couple made their home in Sioux City where they raised three children, Pat, Dick and Vicky. Sivert died March 22, 1996 in Sioux City. Rose has spent the last one and one-half years at Welcov Assisted Living. Rose was a longtime member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church and was involved in the United Presbyterian Women's quilting and sewing group. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She loved to bake cookies for her family, with chocolate chip cookies being everyone's favorite. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. Survivors include her children, Pat Schurdevin and her husband, Don of Elk Point, Dick Hansen and his wife, Terry and Vicky Treloar and her husband, Garland all of Sioux City; a brother, Bob Davis and his wife, Barb of North Sioux City, SD and a sister, Marion Schuck of Fillmore, CA; 8 grandchildren, Bill (Alycen) Treloar, Jim (Tracy) Schurdevin, Rene (Craig) Grover, Dr. Thomas (Dawn) Treloar, Chris (Traci) Schurdevin, Eric (Amanda) Hansen, Angie (Darrin) DuBois and Michael Treloar; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Bob Barger of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her granddaughters.
