Diane L. Johnson, 71 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at her residence after yearlong battle with cancer. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. R. Paul Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Diane was born May 25, 1943 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of William and Rose (Christensen) Kemner. Diane grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School and then Morningside College with a Degree in Education. Diane married Jake Johnson November 24, 1965 in Sioux City. He passed away on July 29, 1995 in Sioux City. Diane taught at Emerson School and then for many years at Irving Elementary School before she retired in 2005. She was received the Teacher of the Year Award in 2002. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Diane enjoyed reading, animals, spending time with her grandchildren and her wonderful lifelong friends, Carol and Marcia. Survivors include her 2 children: Jeff Johnson (Teresa) of Sioux City and Wendy Wilde (Jay) of Sioux City; 3 grandchildren: Madison Wilde, Cameron Johnson and Sawyer Wilde. Diane is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jake, a brother: Ron and a sister: Shirley.
