Gary R. Mitchell

SIOUX CITY | Gary R. Mitchell, 60, of Sioux City, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at his residence. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Gary was born August 24, 1954 in Sioux City the son of John "Jack" P. Mitchell and Virginia L. (Rowe) Mitchell. He attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Western Iowa Technical Community College in 1979. Gary worked for W.I.T.C.C. then for the University of South Dakota in heating and air conditioning maintenance. Survivors include three brothers, Thomas Mitchell and his wife, Debra of Sioux City, Dennis "Mike" Mitchell and his wife, Nancy of Sioux City and Patrick Mitchell of Whiting, IA; a sister-in-law, Debra Welch; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bert Welch, Jr., a sister, Sherry Welch Higginbotham, an infant brother, Joseph and an infant sister, Jackilyn.
