SIOUX CITY | Donna J. Menke, 78, of Sioux City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Armand J. Bertrand officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Donna was born Nov. 1, 1936 in Sheldon, IA, the daughter of Lester and Florence (Wilson) Miller. She grew up in Sheldon where she graduated from high school. On June 16, 1956, she married Lawrence D. Menke in Sheldon. Together they raised five children. Donna worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. until she started her family. After her children were raised, she worked at Bobier Studio and later owned and operated Midwest Novelty & Gifts. She was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and past president of the Women's Guild. She was a past member of the Immaculate Conception School Board. Donna loved to sew, especially for her grandkids. She also belonged to the Blessed Sacrament Church's Sewing Club. Survivors include her husband, Larry; 5 children, Michael Menke of Climbing Hill, IA; Linda Rietz and her husband, Dan, of Eagan, MN; Debra Edwards of Sergeant Bluff, IA; Barbara Seitzinger and her husband, Robert, of Sioux City; and Jerry Menke and his wife, Theresa, of Whiting, IA; 4 brothers, Merlynn Miller and his wife, Pat, of Sheldon, IA; Roger Miller and his wife, JoAnn, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Archie Miller of Diamond Bar, CA; Lester Miller and his wife, Merry Ann, of Fairfield, TX; 2 sisters-in-law, Ann Miller of Primghar, IA and Ann Miller of Algona, IA; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Cal Edwards; 4 brothers, Kenneth; Doyle and his wife Ethel; Ronald and James; and a sister-in-law, Jo Miller. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
