Patrick James Murphy II "Jim", age 50, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, in Des Moines, Iowa. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City. Father Michael Erpelding will officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Patrick James Murphy II, son of Patrick James Murphy and Patty J. Short Murphy, was born September 13, 1964, in Denver, Colorado. In 1970, his family moved to Sioux City where he attended Smith Grade School and West High School. Jim then continued his education and learned welding, interior decorating, truck driving and carpentry. For much of his life, he worked as a Master Union Carpenter. In September of 1989, Jim was united in marriage with Noriene Bobier in Las Vegas, Nevada. Two sons were born to this marriage. The family settled in Sioux City in 1994. Jim was a hard worker and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was also an active and productive member of AA and NA. He will always be remembered as a loving grandpa. Jim is survived by his wife Noriene Murphy of South Sioux City, NE; two sons: Britt Murphy and Skyler Murphy of South Sioux City; a granddaughter Emery; his mother Patty Murphy of Sioux City; seven siblings: Lucy (David) Kowaleski of Las Vegas, NV; Sean (Kristi) Murphy of LeMars; Kevin (Jenny) Murphy of Hawarden; Daniel Murphy of Sioux City; Matthew (Mandy) Murphy of Sturtevant, WI; Megan (Joseph) Petrini of Las Vegas and Katie (John) Krikorian of Las Vegas; his mother-in-law Caroline Matney of South Sioux City; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
