Sue Ann Richards-Olson

Sue Ann Richards-Olson, 59, of Sergeant Bluff, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Sue was born the daughter of Richard and Donna (Laehle) Richards on July 6, 1955 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Hinton Community High School in 1974. Sue married John Anderson in December of 1974. The couple later divorced. Sue married Mike Olson on May 31, 1996 in Hinton, Iowa. She waitressed for several years at Truck Haven and Sioux Harbor. Sue loved spending as much time with her family and grandchildren as possible. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and reading. She liked to garden and spend time at the farm with her husband. Sue was an active member of Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church. Sue is survived by her husband, Mike Olson of Sergeant Bluff; children, Liz (Layne) Wood of Fargo, ND, Josh (Penny) Anderson of LeMars, IA, Ryan (Angie) Anderson of Rapid City, SD; two brothers, Mike (Laura) Richards and Rich (Tammy) Richards; two sisters, Connie (Norm) Thoreson and Cheryl Doll; two step-daughters, Elizabeth (Paul) Jacobsma of Chicago, IL and Emily Olson of St. Louis, MO; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Harry and Jeanette Olson, and sister-in-law, Sandy (Mike) Becker. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the ALS Foundation or Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church.
