Shirley Marie Staggers

Shirley Marie Staggers, 90 of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Countryside Senior Living Center after a long illness. Services will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Private graveside services will be Wednesday in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Shirley was born July 13, 1924 in St. Croix, WI; she was the daughter of Harry J. and Mildred Ann (Peever) Staggers. Shirley spent her early childhood in Alberta, Canada and then the family moved back to St. Croix, WI. She worked as a receptionist at the Western Home in Cedar Falls, IA for over 20 years. She came to Sioux City in 1985. Shirley was a women of faith and deep convictions. She enjoyed studying the Bible, traveling, music, sewing, swimming, cooking and teaching children. Survivors include her sister: Joy Washington of Sioux City. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
