SIOUX CITY | Ronald A. Gatewood, 80, of Sioux City died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 at Countryside Senior Living. Services will 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, 6200 Morningside Ave., with Rev. Russell Senstad officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Ronn was born Aug. 27, 1934 in Sioux City the son of Joel R. and Martha (Hamilton) Gatewood. He graduated from Central High School in 1952. On June 10, 1955 he married Patricia J. DeLap in Sioux City. He later married Donna L. Shearon on October 12, 1968 in Sioux City. Ronn worked for Booth Fisheries and Kitty Clover before working in the paper & institutional sales business for 30 years for several Sioux City companies over that time. Once retired, he started his own promotional goods business continuing to help customers, and help their businesses. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge over the years and enjoyed time with the members as well as spending time bowling, racquetball, handball and of course, golfing. Ronn enjoyed being with people. He loved his family and spent as much time with them as he could. When not with family, he was surrounded by many friends. They all could often be found on the golf course, the river or on a motorcycle. Survivors include 3 sons and their wives, Gregory and Carol Gatewood of Tucson, AZ, Brian and Lucy Gatewood of Tacoma, WA and Brent and Lori Gatewood of Milwaukee, WI; 3 grandchildren, Jessica Gatewood, Rebecca Gatewood and Jonathan Gatewood; 4 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Gatewood. Pallbearers will be Greg Gatewood, Brian Gatewood, Brent Gatewood, Gary Ericson, Brian Shearon and Bruce Ahrendt A memorial in Ronn's name will be determined at a later date and donations may be directed to the family.
