Marjorie Beaubien

Marjorie Beaubien, age 96, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at Countryside Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City. Memorial services will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with a period of visitation to follow. Reverend Tim Bonney of Grace United Methodist Church will officiate. Marjorie Frances, daughter of John and Frances (Farwell) Smith, was born September 21, 1918, in South Dakota near Akron, Iowa. She grew up at Akron and graduated from Akron High School. On July 6, 1938, Marjorie was united in marriage with Bernard F. Beaubien. Three children were born to this union. The family made their home in Storm Lake and while Bernard was called to the service, Marjorie and the kids lived at Westfield. Upon Bernard's return from the service, the family settled in Sioux City. Marjorie was an excellent housewife, housekeeper and cook. She enjoyed sewing and attending Whitfield United Methodist Church. Marjorie is survived by three children: Diane (Bob) Clark of Sioux City; Donna (Carl) Gilbertson of Sioux City and Gary (Diana) Beaubien of Denison; nine grandchildren: Jim Clark and his significant other Debbie Martin, Jeff (Julie) Clark, Gay (Steve) Parker, Deb (Mitch) Lanning, Kevin Gilbertson, Carla (Gregg) Johnson, Kelli (Tim) Povich, Brett Beaubien, and Kirk (Shawna) Beaubien; 17 great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Jaclyn, Christy, Nicki, Jay, Erin, Nick, Brook, Brigette, Abbie, Peyton, Jordan, Ashton, Cade, Jase, Demi and Anden; three great-great-grandchildren: Keagen, Amelia and Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four siblings: Verda Bullis, Wilford Smith, Eldon Smith and Doris Campbell.
