Mildred M. Peterson, 91, of Blair, Nebraska, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015. Visitation with the body present will be Monday, January 26, 2015 from 4 to 7 P.M. with family present from 5 to 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Private family burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Mildred was born the daughter of Ivar and Dorothy (Carson) Brodine on July 16, 1923 in Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from Central High School in 1941. Mildred married Loren W. Peterson on July 19, 1947 in Sioux City where they raised their two daughters. Loren died May 13, 2004. Mildred was a lifelong member of the Sioux City First Covenant Church where she worked as a secretary for many years. Mildred and her husband were long time members of the Siouxland Rock and Gem Club. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Luke's delivering patient mail. She treasured time spent with family. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Ron) Champlin of Omaha, NE and Laurie (Todd) Wick of Blair, NE; one brother, Dr. Charles Brodine of Gaithersburg, MD; five grandsons, Dustin (Carrie) Champlin of Glenwood, IA, Cody (Laura) Champlin of Omaha, NE, Ethan, Alec, and Evan Wick all of Blair, NE; and four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kylie, Wyatt, and Wesley Champlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; three brothers, Milton, Don, and Bob; and two sisters, Helen and Louise.
