Charlotte A. Casaday, 68, of Jackson, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at a local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. and a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Charlotte was born the daughter of Delbert and Agnus (Stromer) Mellick on April 6, 1946 in Norfolk, Nebraska. She attended grade school at Goodwin, Nebraska. She graduated from Emerson High School and went on to attend Business College in Colorado. Charlotte married Ray Casaday on June 22, 1973 in Elk Point, South Dakota. They made their home in Jackson, Nebraska for the last 42 years. Charlotte worked for Aalfs Manufacturing from 1977 until her retirement in 2010. She also worked for the Dowry part time for 20 years and sold Avon since 1990. Charlotte was a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. She had many friends and several around the world. She loved computers, gadgets, and animals. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Ray Casaday of Jackson, NE; three brothers, Dave (Peggy) Mellick, Arnold (Rita) Mellick, and Darrell (Janet) Mellick all of Jackson, NE; two nieces, Tonya Mellick and boyfriend Joe, and Tina Mellick both of Jackson, NE; and six nephews, Chris Mellick and girlfriend Milly of Texas, Mark (Tammy) Mellick of Pender, NE, Brian (Melinda) Mellick of Lincoln, NE, Wayne (Tiffany) Mellick of Sioux Falls, SD, Wade (Jennifer) Mellick of Texas, and Wyatt (Lynn) Mellick of Waterbury, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents.
