Eugene Donner

Eugene Donner, age 83, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at a local hospital. Funeral services are being planned for a later date. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Eugene Kenneth Donner was born on April 25, 1931, at Belden, Nebraska. He grew up at Belden and Norfolk, Nebraska and attended school at Belden. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea until 1952. Upon his receiving his honorable discharge, he worked as a police officer in Norfolk for five years. On August 4, 1955, Eugene was united in marriage with Janet Carol Cross at Norfolk, Nebraska. Eugene then worked as a truck driver for Walbaum in Wakefield. In 1965, Eugene and Janet made their home in South Sioux City. Eugene then drove truck for Concrete Products until his retirement in 1991. Eugene is survived by seven children: Rodney Donner and wife JoAnn; Diane King and husband Ted; Richard Donner; Sherri Kobs and husband Matt; Randall Donner and wife Coral; Kristi Donelson and husband Roy and Jeannie Aubele and husband Raymond; 21 grandchildren: Amber, Erica, Heather, Michelle, Seamus, Benjamin, Jonathan, David, Katie, Kristofer, Gloria, Fawn, Rebecca, Kassandra, Danielle, Nickolas, Victoria, Blake, Brianna, Brittney and Andrea; eight great-grandchildren: Kasara, Keira, Jonathan Jr., Dante, Nolan, Autumn, Carter and Esmay; two brothers Larry and Lyle Case and two sisters Lynette Carlson and Loretta Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Robert, a sister Lois Lunda and a brother Jim Donner.
