Patricia Bean, age 74, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Trimble United Methodist Church in Sioux City. Reverend Martha Anderson will officiate. Jeff Pilgrim and Rick Larson will be vocalists. Visitation will be Monday, January 19, 2015, from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. and a Prayer Service at 7 P.M., all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Patricia Carol Bean, daughter of Clarence and Harriet (Sieger) Smith, was born December 11, 1940, in Moville, Iowa. She grew up in Washta and graduated from Grand Meadow High School. She then worked for the gas company in Cherokee. On February 14, 1960, Pat was united in marriage with Charles Bean at Washta. They lived in Sioux City and South Sioux City before settling in their current home 1967. Three children were born to this union. Pat was an excellent cook and baker and worked at the North Junior High Cafeteria, A & W, and St. Luke's Hospital. She then cherished the many hours babysitting her grandchildren. Pat was a very active member of Trimble United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was in Co-chair of the Trimble Bazaar. She was an avid reader and enjoyed coaching her son's t-ball team, playing Bingo and dominos, and cards with the 500 Club. Pat is survived by her husband Charles Bean of Sioux City; three children: Dani Tompkins and husband Gary of Sioux City; Barbara Bean of El Paso, Texas; and Greg Bean and wife Andrea of Sioux City; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a sister Gale Peterson and husband Leroy of Madrid. She was preceded in death by her parents.
