Joan Hindman

Joan Hindman, 77, of Dakota Dunes, SD passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at a Sioux City Hospital. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with Deacon Patricia Roberts officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Joan was born on January 22, 1937 in Modale, IA to Frank M. and Vesta (Hillman) Holsinger. Joan was married to Orvall Hindman on November 22, 1952 in South Sioux City, NE. She worked for 13 years for IBP in Sioux City. They moved to Lincoln City, OR in 1980 where she worked for 15 years in the Laundry Business for Salishan Lodge. She retired in 1989. They moved back to Sioux City in 2007. She loved being around animals, tending her house plants, and traveling with her husband on the many cruises they took together. Family was very important to her and she did her best to never miss her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She is survived by her husband Orvall Hindman of Dakota, Dunes, SD; 2 daughters Rae Ann Walton of Spokane, WA; Terry Tucker of Sioux City; son Larry Hindman of Lincoln City, OR; daughter-in-law Joyce Hindman of Lincoln City, OR; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 3 brothers Frank (Linda) Holsinger of Widbey Island, WA; Robert (Denise) Holsinger of Sioux City; Randy Holsinger of Lawton; sister Rene West of Arora, CO; 2 sister-in-laws Barb Treglia of Sioux City; Nancy Good of IL; and long time friends Nancy Rains and Georga Kulio both of OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Glen Holsinger.
