Dollie M. Chartier, 93, of Sioux City passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at North Park Place. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Whitfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Liz Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to; www.meyerbroschapels.com Dollie was born on May 29, 1921 in Rockford, IA to Franklin H. and Nellie (Mendenhall) Stout. She graduated from Central High School. She was a secretary for many years for the Sioux City Schools. She was united in marriage to Elmer E. Chartier on June 22, 1940 in Sioux City. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1999 in Sioux City. She was a 50 year member of the Whitfield United Methodist Church where she was actively apart of the Alter Guild and always enjoyed being a part of the long tradition of making the church peanut brittle. She was also a past member of the PTA and Retired Secretary's. In her younger years she was active in the American Legion and DAV Auxiliary. She is survived by her 3 of 4 sons Mark (Rhonda) Chartier of Sioux City; Everette (Mary Katherine) Chartier of Castle Rock, CO; and Larry Chartier of Carroll, IA; daughter-in-law Lynda E. Chartier of Omaha, NE; 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Allan, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 3 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice of Siouxland.
