Marcile M. Munson

SIOUX CITY | Marcile M. Munson, 87, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014 at a local hospital surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. David Hemann officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday with the family present 6-8 p.m. and the vigil service at 7 pm at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Marcile was born Oct. 18, 1927 in Mapleton, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Helen (Brummer) Rohmiller. On Nov. 27, 1947 she married Ronald R. Munson at the Cathedral of The Epiphany in Sioux City. Marcile worked as a waitress at the Green Gables for many years. Ron died Aug. 2, 1992 in Sioux City. Marcile enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, holiday baking and talk radio. Most of all she enjoyed following her grandkids' various activities. She was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was active in the church circles. Survivors include 6 children, Jerry (Debby) Munson of Sioux City, Steve Munson of Mill Valley, Calif., Marlene Vondrak (partner, Ron Kruse) of Monmouth, Ill., Tom Munson of Santa Monica, Calif., Barb (Don) Jaminet, Jr. of Sioux City and Sandy (Duane) Peterson of Sioux City; brother, Lloyd (Lois) Rohmiller of Sioux City; sister, Noreen (Richard) Schmidt of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren, Corey Munson, Erin Klopstad, Jenny Varghese, Ryan Munson, Shane and Amanda Vondrak, Cindy Oetken, Colette Stroh, Alina and Anthony Taormina, Travis, Cody and Kirk Jaminet, Brett, Nick, Charlie and Connor Peterson and Katie Firestine; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Gert Swanger, Elaine Rickert, Gerald Rohmiller, Joe Rohmiller, Darlene Nolen, Patricia Bohlmann, Ron (John) Rohmiller and Bernie Rohmiller. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in her name to the Queen of Peace.
