Ron D. Keleher

Ronald D. Keleher, 81, of Sioux City, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 26, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time. Ronald was born the son of Edward and Mabel (Davis) Keleher, Sr. on June 14, 1933 in Monona County, Iowa. He attended St. Patrick's School in Danbury, Iowa and later received his GED with nine other family members in 1978. Ronald married Lavonne Wonder on January 20, 1951 in Danbury, Iowa. They were married for 63 years and 11 months. One month shy of 64 years. Ron worked at Armour and Cudahy Meats and did construction at Port Neal before retiring from the CDU at Mercy Medical Center after 17 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and CB radio communication. He enjoyed his many dogs he had over the years. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was very important to him, especially in his later years. Ronald is survived by his wife, Lavonne Wonder Keleher of Sioux City; three children, Sheryl Keleher-Prins, Kevin (Louise) Keleher, Sr., and Gayelynne Keleher-Flanders all of Sioux City; one daughter-in-law, Penny Keleher of Sioux City; one brother, Charles (Carolyn) Keleher, Sr. of Sioux City; one sister, Bev Salvatori of Sioux City; 20 Grandchildren, Justin, David, Ronnie, Jr., Jennifer, Stephanie, Steven, Benji, Al, Jeremy, Joshua, Jessie, Jodi, K.J., Mindy, Nick, Brandon, Brent, Jimmy, Melissa, and Kim; and 45 plus great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Steven (Renee) Keleher, Ronald Lee Keleher, Sr., and David A. Keleher; five brothers, Ed, Joe, Donnie, Wilbur, and Paul; one sister, Nancy Gusse; grandchildren, Misty Keleher, James Paul Prins, Rickie and Nicole Keleher, one great grandson, Gage Prins; and one son-in-law, Paul Prins.
