SIOUX CITY | Charlotte Slotsky, 93, of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12th, 2014 at Bickford Assisted Living after a long illness. Memorial services will be conducted Monday, December 15th at 11:00 AM at Congregation Beth Shalom 715 38th St in Sioux City, with Rabbi Guy Greene officiating. A luncheon will be served at Congregation Beth Shalom following internment services at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Charlotte was born in Kansas City, Kansas March 26th, 1921 to Isadore and Elizabeth (Kaufman) Liebling. She grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School in Kansas City. She was married to Lawrence Slotsky in 1946. They were married for 52 years, until Lawrence's death in 1998. They lived in St Joseph, Missouri from 1946 - 1952 and moved to Sioux City in 1952. Charlotte and Lawrence were members of Mt Sinai Temple and later, Congregation Beth Shalom. She was a member of Sisterhood and Hadassah. Charlotte took great pride in her in her marriage to Lawrence and in her role as mother of her three children. She and Lawrence traveled extensively and together they had many friends. She was a very special person who was loved by many. Survivors include two sons, Jeff Slotsky and his wife Peggy of Corning, Iowa, Don Slotsky of Jacksonville, Florida; a daughter, Marilyn Jensen and her husband Craig of Sioux City; 9 grandchildren, Greg Slotsky of Grenada, Mississippi, Dr. Jacey Johnson and her husband Lee of Mundelein, Illinois, Aaron Slotsky and his wife Amber Gaborit of Sioux City, Sam Slotsky and his wife Abbie of Crystal, Minnesota, Jessica Jensen of Sioux City, Brandt Jensen of Ames, Iowa; Paul Julius and his wife Amy of Dakota Dunes, SD, Sarah Julius and her partner Curtis Wagner of Omaha, Ne, Emily Julius and her husband Laurent Charriere of Aix-en- Provence, France: a brother, Harold Liebling of Silverspring, MD; and 10 great grandchildren.
