Robert M. "Bobby" Olson, 42 of Sioux City passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 in Atlantic, IA. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Saturday at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Bobby was born January 14, 1972 in Sioux City. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from North High School in 1990. He attended the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and the University of Iowa. His gift was art. Bobby won many awards and was so proud to have had his art in numerous shows. He fashioned himself a "Bob Dylan", playing his guitar and writing many songs. But his greatest love was family, friends and anyone he met. He never met a stranger. He would give the shirt off his back, lending help to anyone in need, even sharing his last dollar. Survivors include his mother: Judy Conlon and her husband Joe of Sioux City; his fathers: Roberts Tiegs of Lincoln, NE and Milton Olson of Omaha, NE; Bobby's special friend: Meagan Murphy; his brothers and sisters: Patricia Engstrom and her husband Dave of Sioux Falls, SD, Anissa Olson of Grand Forks, ND, Jeromy Olson and Vicky of Blytheville, AK, Erica Olson and Rod Welch of Sioux City, Todd Olson of Sioux City; 7 nieces and nephews: Kassie, Keith, Candace, Tony, Gabriel, Chance and Jadon; numerous aunts and uncles Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents. Those we hold most dear never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they showed and the love they brought to our lives.
