Jane M. Holtzen

March 25, 1941 — December 5, 2014

Jane M. Holtzen, 73 of Sioux City passed away on Friday, December 05, 2014 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Rev. Russell Senstad and David Zirpel will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Monday all at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Jane was born March 25, 1941 in Faribault, MN; she was the daughter of Adolph and Nina (Dagmar) Langehough. She graduated from Graettinger High School where she played basketball and played in 2 State Tournaments. She played basketball and softball at St. Luke's School of Nursing and softball for Concordia Lutheran Church. Jane received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Selected Studies from the University of South Dakota in 1972 and her Master's Degree in Selected Studies from USD in 1980. She married Ronald Holtzen August 10, 1962 in Sioux City. Jane was employed at St. Luke's Hospital for 43 years from 1962 to 2005. She was a floor nurse for several years, taught at St. Luke's School of Nursing and for the last 10 years worked in the call center. Jane was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved to read and go fishing and spend time with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed shopping and going to coffee with Jan. Survivors include her husband Ronald of Sioux City; 2 children: Thomas Holtzen and his wife Wendie of Boulder, Co, Patricia Farrar and her husband Jeffrey of Okoboji, IA; 2 brothers: Paul Langehough and his wife Ruth of Iowa City, IA, Mike Langehough and his wife Janice of Leavenworth, WA; her sister: Ann Limberg and her husband Stanley of Woden, IA; a sister in law: Colleen Holtzen of Sioux City; 4 grandchildren: Dana and Alex Holtzen, Audrey and Caroline Farrar. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father in law: Rufus and Mabel Holtzen, a brother in law: Richard Holtzen
