Cora E. Stoltze, 94, of Hinton passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The Rev. James Travis will officiate. Cora was born on Jan. 27, 1920, in Sioux City, the daughter of Sam and Jeanette (Vanden Broek) Moore. Cora married Carl Stoltze Jr. on March 24, 1946, in Sioux City. She worked on the family farm with her husband. Cora enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, bowling, traveling and cards. She was very active at her church, delivered meals on wheels and volunteered for Senior Help Mate. Survivors include four children, Julie VanderPlas and her husband, Duane of Hinton, and their two children and five grandchildren, John Stoltze of Hinton and his child, Jeanne Bogenrief and her husband, Mark of Sutherland, Iowa, and their two children and three grandchildren, Amy Hodges and her husband, Steve of Scottsbluff, Neb., and their three children and six grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Pam Stoltze of Hinton, and her three children and six grandchildren; and a brother, George Moore of Merchantville, N.J. Cora was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a daughter, Diane; a son, Mark; her parents; and one brother, Jack Moore. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or The Good Shepherd Hour.
