Terry L. Tague, 72 of Sioux City passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2104 at his residence after a brief illness. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church. Rev. David Hemann will officiate. Private graveside services with military honors will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Monday all at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com. Terry was born May 3, 1942 in Akron, IA; he was the son of Richard and Bertha (Richards) Tague. He grew up in Hinton area and in Sioux City. Terry went to school in Hinton and graduate from Central High School in 1962. He then joined the U.S. Navy and served on submarines and spent 1 year on land refurbishing a refer van to service river boats. He served on the U.S.S. Salmon and the U.S.S. Gato at the shipyard in Pascagoula, MS. Terry also taught at attack centers in Groton. Terry joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served on the U.S.S. Hamilton out of Boston. He taught at the gunnery school at Governors Island, NY and then was attached to Fleet Training Group at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba twice. He was stationed at Ship Inventory Control Point at the Coast Guard yard at Curtis Bay, MD. Terry was the Weapons Warrant for the 5th Coast Guard District twice and retired from the U.S.C.G. as a CW04 Weapons Warrant Officer after 29 years, 10 years with the Navy and 19 years with the Coast Guard. One of the most favorite places they lived was at Snug Harbor, NC when he was stationed in the Tidewater area. He married Annette Bakken on December 21, 1968 in Sioux City and was her soul mate, best friend and always loyal and faithful companion. Terry was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was on the Peace & Justice Committee and helped purchase food for the fish dinner for many years. Terry is survived by his wife Annette and their critters; his brothers: Ron Tague (Cheryl) of Hinton, IA, Mike Tague (Debby) of Sioux City, sisters: Darla Miller (Ted) of Sioux City, Bethene Caskey of MN; a brother in law: Bob Bakken (Joni) of Albuquerque, MN and many nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Bertha, a baby brother, grandparents: Millie and George Richards and Pearl and Rubin Tague.
