Charmyne K. Sanderson, 66, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. and a Vigil service at 7 P.M. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Charmyne was born the daughter of Wayne and Mildred (Zellmer) Fitchner on April 3, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Moville, Iowa and graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 1966. She attended the University of South Dakota - Springfield from 1971 to 1973, then transferred to Briar Cliff University where she graduated in 1974. Charmyne married Joe Burkhart in 1970. The couple divorced in 1993. She later married Mike Sanderson in 1999. They divorced in 2009. Charmyne worked in the social services field for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading daily devotionals and spending time with her grandchildren. Charmyne was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Charmyne is survived by her mother Mildred Fitcher, one son, Bill (Marleen) Burkhart of Sioux City; two brothers, Doug (Carol) Fitchner of LeMars, and Bill (Becky) Fitchner of Midland, Texas; and two grandchildren, Aaron and Eileen Burkhart of Sioux City. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne.
