Frances Ruth Utech

Frances Ruth Utech, 83 of Sioux City, was called home to her heavenly Father after a full and loving life, on Thursday, October 30, 2014 with family by her side. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Reverend James Travis as clergy. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Frances was born on September 7, 1931 in Ute, Iowa, to Louis and Irene (Krog) Bretthauer. She was raised in Ute, and graduated from Ute High School with the Class of 1949. Frances worked at Postal Finance and met the love-of-her-life, Clint S. Utech, whom she married on October 2, 1954. She enjoyed her faith, family, friends, antiquing, and bingo, but found her greatest joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frances is survived by her husband Clinton Utech of Sioux City; children Stewart (Julie) Utech of Sioux City, Scott (Cindy) Utech of Bellevue, NE, Brett (Lisa) Utech of Columbus, NE, and Anita Utech of Sioux City; daughter-in-law Jane Utech of Iowa City; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Phyllis Lee of Long Beach, CA; and brothers Richard Bretthauer of Brooklyn, WI, and Wilber (Shirley) Bretthauer of Marion, IA. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and son Craig L. Utech of Tiffin, Iowa.
