Ordine M. "Todd" Tastad, 84 of Pender, NE and formerly of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Rev. Miles Ruke will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com Todd was born April 28, 1930 in Albert City, IA; he was the son of Einar and Mabel (Olson) Tastad. He was born and raised in the Albert City area and graduated from Albert City High School. Todd married Charlene Dahl January 18, 1953 in Jackson, MN, she passed away on October 4, 2013 in Pender. Todd retired from International Harvester and then worked and retired from Mercy Medical Center. He was an active member of the Teamster Union Local 554 and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Sioux City. He enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables, camping and hunting when he was younger. Survivors include 4 children: Todd Tastad and his wife Julie of Sioux City, Linda Baldes and her husband Marty of Denton, TX, Ted Tastad and his wife Terry of Sioux City, Carla Urbanec and her husband Richard of Pender, NE, 2 brothers: Larry Tastad of St. Paul, MN and Dan Tastad of Fonda, IA; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Todd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Charlene, and 2 sisters: Beatrice and Norine. Pallbearers will be Joshua Tastad, Collyn Baldes, Carter Baldes, Jacob Tastad, Kayla Hart and Luke Hart.
