Donna M. Stabile

Donna M. Stabile, 85 of Sioux City passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Michael Erpelding will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday with a Vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online at www.meyerbroschapels.com. Donna was born September 20, 1929 in Sioux City; she was the daughter of John and Frances (Milton) Cain. Donna grew up in Sioux City and attended Sioux City schools. She married Joseph P. Stabile July 24, 1948 in Sioux City and they were married for 63 years; he died December 12, 2011 in Sioux City. Donna worked for Davenport Cleaners for many years and retired in 1999 at the age of 70. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a former member of the Carmelite Guild and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Donna was an avid fan of Bishop Heelan High School and Notre Dame. She loved to cook and prepare family meals. Survivors include her daughter Carol Stabile, her brother: Gary Cain and his wife Toni, her sister Beverly Koson all of Sioux City; several nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, 2 brothers Wayne and Mark Cain. Due to my mother's love for her nephews and cousins her honorary pallbearer's will be: Roland Stabile, Frank Stabile, Joseph Stabile, Jim Kelly, Mick Richer, Chris Cain, Spencer Cain, and the Stabile boys; Dan, Mike, Ron, Tim, Jerry, and Nick Jr. Also, a special thank you to Veronica, Charlotte, Trudi and Jesse from Hospice of Siouxland.
