Linda L. Chesher, 62 of Sioux City, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at a local nursing facility. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton, Iowa with Reverend Steven Stoll officiating. Interment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery adjacent to the church. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with family present at 6:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service beginning Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.meyerbroschapels.com Linda was born on July 15, 1952 in Sioux City to Dave and Doris (Holt) Muecke. She received her education and graduated from the Hinton Public Schools before continuing her studies at the Spencer School of Business. She married Tom Chesher in September of 1973, to which union, two daughters were born. Linda worked for several years for the Grandy Pratt Insurance Company. She enjoyed cooking, working on crafts, and visiting with friends, but found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters. Linda was a proud member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton. Linda is survived by her daughters Lisa Chesher and her fiancé Mike Vandenberg and Julie Howard and her special friend Brian Rich, all of Sioux City; father Dave Muecke of Hinton; granddaughters Alyssa Vandenberg and Haley Howard; brother Scott Muecke and his wife Tina of Hancock, IA; sister Lori Hawk and her fiancé' Bob Howe of Angora, MN. Linda was preceded in death by her mother Doris four years ago, and brother Craig Muecke. Casket Bearers for the service will be David Hawk, Shawn Kober, Bob Howe, Mike McLain, Brandon Mihm, and Mike Aalbers.
