June Florence Hebert

February 14, 1926 — October 3, 2014

June F. Hebert, 88, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. June was born the daughter of William and Myrtle (Bristow) Anderson on February 14, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa. She attended Sioux City schools and graduated from Central High School. June married William Horsley on November 24, 1943. The couple later divorced. She married Earl J. Hebert on July 15, 1959 in Arnolds Park, Iowa. June was one of the first school aides for Grant school, a job she enjoyed from 1969 until her retirement in 1987. She loved genealogy, crocheting, and attending her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's sporting events. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. June is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Jim) McCrystal of Sioux City and Lynette (Gary) Blanchard of Hinton; one sister, Phyllis Johnson of Merrill; seven grandchildren, Jill (Tim) Travis, Jackie McCrystal, Jim (Leah) McCrystal, Jr., Jennifer (Bill) Nice, Adrienne (Aaron) Munkvold, Carrie Blanchard, and Nora (Adam) Girard; eleven great-grandchildren; and her many friends at Whispering Creek Active Retirement Community where she lived for the past several years until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; two brothers, Richard and William Anderson; and two sisters, Jeanette Huigens and Mona Van Meter.
