Delores E. Hobbs, 83 of Sioux City, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Abiding by family wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside inurnment will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel has assisted the family with arrangements. Delores was born on July 19, 1931 in Bladen, Nebraska to Melvin M. and Grace (Schaa) Peterson. At age 8, her family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa where she finished her education. Delores married William H. Hobbs on November 10, 1951 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She moved her family to Sioux City in 1953 and in the mid 50's the couple bought their home on Myrtle Street, where family still enjoys the neighborhood. Delores was proud to be a homemaker and found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren. She was the chair-person for the brain injury support group in Woodbury County for several years. Delores is survived by her daughter Robyn L. Steinhoff, son Gary Hobbs, and son Terry Hobbs and his wife Teresa, all of Sioux City; 5 grandchildren Matt Steinhoff, Jason, Steven, Trevor and Logan Hobbs; and one great-granddaughter Brilee Hobbs. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband William in 1989, son Daniel, and two sisters.
