Marta L. Henshaw

Marta L. Henshaw, 53 of Sioux City, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at a local hospital. A Memorial Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with inurnment to follow at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 23rd at 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Marta was born on April 7, 1961 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Leland and Florence (Larson) Waterland. She received her education in Sioux City, graduating with the Class of 1979 from West High School. Marta was a member of the Iowa National Guard. She married Steve Henshaw on April 30, 1984 in Sioux City. Marta was employed by the Argosy Casino, as both a black-jack dealer and a guest services specialist. Marta loved to travel and was able to fulfill most of her "bucket-list" over the past few years, including attending the Kentucky Derby. She loved horses, and enjoyed watching them race. Marta is survived by her son Austin Henshaw of Ames, Iowa; father Leland Waterland and his wife Eila of Arizona; Stepdad Richard Cardwell of Sioux City, and sisters Stacy Buehlmann and her husband Dave of Sioux City and Teri Doidge and her husband Glen of Rapid City, South Dakota. Marta was preceded in death by her mother Florence Cardwell and husband Steve in 2007.
