Kathleen Lynn Osborn, 67, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. with family present from 6 to 8 P.M. and a prayer service at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com. Kathleen was born the daughter of Lynn and Jessie Weyer Kissinger on May 21, 1947 in Hawarden, IA. She and her family were all raised in Riverside in Sioux City, IA where she attended all of her schooling, graduating from Riverside High in 1965. Kathleen married Shannon Osborn on July 27, 1967 in Sioux City. The couple later divorced. Her career included working as a bookkeeper and accounting clerk for a number of companies, including Greenberg's in Sioux City. Kathleen was a very spiritual person, she was raised Methodist but also enjoyed visiting the Buddhist temple and was a frequent visitor to Trinity Heights later in life. As a donor to Mary Queen of Peace, there is a commemorative plaque and bench placed in her name there. She enjoyed the outdoors, enjoyed playing bingo, and loved to visit the casinos to play penny slots. She loved Billy Boy and their Diet Cherry Cokes, enjoyed McDonald's Big Macs, and the Riverside Dairy Queen taverns, footlongs, and chocolate malts, where she also worked as a young lady. She was an avid reader and liked to volunteer her time to read to the elderly and to the blind. Kathleen is survived by one son, Evan Osborn of Omaha; one daughter, Melanie Osborn of Omaha; two brothers, David Kissinger of Sioux City and Paul Kissinger formerly of Sioux City; two sisters, Barb Douglas of Spencer, Iowa and Mary (Arnie) Meister of LeMars; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, and Aidan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband Shannon; brother-in-law, Jim Douglas; and sister-in-law, Laura Kissinger.
